1/4 cup soy sauce
2 Tbsp rice vinegar
1 Tbsp honey or maple syrup
1 Tbsp sesame oil
1 inch of chopped ginger
Juice of half a lime
Put in saucepan to heat up and mix.. add water to desired consistency.
For the stir fry... I use up anything in my fridge and serve it with rice or rice noodles. Easy, fast and healthy!!
I love to use organic cold pressed extra virgin olive oil (EVOO)... it is always on hand and EXTREMELY beneficial for blood lipid levels (Cholesterol, LDL and HDL levels). It is a main part of the Mediterranean Diet that is heart healthy!
-2 tbsp EVOO
-1 tsp balsamic vinegar
-1 tsp of maple syrup
Whip together and add to cooked veggies or salads!
Another recipe that I have been meaning to make for awhile. Less toxins and chemicals than most lotions and less costly! The ingredients can be found at a health food store or purchased online. These make great gifts!!
1. In a double boiler or a glass boil over a boiling pot of water, melt all oils except for the essential oils.
2. Stir and make sure all mixed well
3. Remove from heat, add oils once the mixture has cooled a bit.
4. Move to fridge and let cool for about 1 hour or until it solidifies
5. Take out of fridge and use a mixer to whip it fluffy for about 10 minutes
6. Put in glass jars to store
One batch makes 3.5 mason jars that are 4 oz in size.
Turmeric powder and supplements are very anti inflammatory and high antioxidant power; something that we all need for various health concerns and living optimally.
I have made a few different versions of turmeric lattes, so far this is the easiest, tastiest and my hubby loves it, so it's my clear winner!
1 cup of milk
1 tsp of turmeric
1/2 tsp of cinnamon
Maple syrup to taste... about 1 tsp to 2 tsp
Add all ingredients to a small saucepan and bring to a slight bowl, then take off heat, stir well and serve.
Makes 2 small cups.
I have been wanting to make this for a long time... it tastes sweet and is safe for kids to take, so it is definitley a staple in my household for all of us to take to prevent getting sick.

DIY natural deodorant:
°6 tbsp melted coconut oil
°1/4 cup baking soda
°1/4 cup arrowroot powder or cornstarch
°few drops of your favourite essential oil like lavender, tea tree etc.etc.
°Put in a jar, it will harden as the coconut oil cools.
This is so easy to make, very inexpensive, and effective! Less endocrine disrupting toxins to absorb in a very hormonally sensitive area.
This is one of my favourite marinades, because it is super tasty and easy to do with just 3 ingredients:
1 tbsp curry paste (I like the red one)
2 tbsp tamari or soy sauce or Bragg's amino
2 tbsp sesame oil
Mix all three in a bowl and add it to raw cut up chicken or tofu in a baking dish until cooked; approximately 20 minutes on 350F. You can also add a bit of arrowroot powder to the mixture when added to chicken to make a thicker sauce esp. when the juices of the chicken are released, it can make the sauce watery.
You can add veggies too - it just may increase the cooking time!

I have tried a lot of different ear washes for my dog.. Nothing worked that well until this I tried this homemade concoction.
Ingredients: 3\4 c white vinegar, 1\4 c rubbing alcohol, 1\2tbsp boric acid and 1tsp of iodine.
Put in a dropper bottle or squirt bottle, put in dog's ear outside and then let them shake head. Repeat other side and then wipe out with a tissue.
The boric acid and iodine can be found behind the counter at a pharmacy.
Hope this helps!
I know this helped us!

I never really had too much of a need for stain remover for laundry before kids, but with kids and the introduction of foods like blueberries, tomato sauce, avocado stains and pesto and many others, yes I needed something that WORKED!
My sister in law introduced me to this "miracle cleaner" simply 1part Dawn dish soap (yes it HAS to be Dawn) and 2 parts hydrogen peroxide. Mix in spray bottle, let sit for 15 minutes then throw in the wash.
So if you use 1/4 cup of Dawn dish soap you would use 1/2 cup of hydrogen peroxide or 1 cup of Dawn to 2 cups of hydrogen peroxide.
I've used this successfully on stains that have already gone through the wash and dryer cycle once or day\days old stains.
Enjoy getting those stains out!

I LOVE when I can make something that is an effective natural alternative to a more chemically laden product. This is a recipe I got from a patient actually who raved about it. So I thought I would give it a try as I react very severely to mosquito bites and wanted something that did not have DEET in it to use on my kids and my dog. This is a sure winner in my books and to those family, friends and patients I recommend it to!
For each 2 oz of witch hazel or vodka in a small spray bottle:
Add 10-20 drops each of the following essential oils:
Best if sits for a few months before use, but still effective when made 'Fresh'.
Spray apply to skin and clothing/hats. Spray on hand to apply to face. A small amount last a long time, but reapply as necessary.
Check out this Scientific American article explaining deet as well as how Oil of lemon eucalyptus is a CDC (Centers for Disease Control) approved insect repellent! AMAZING!
Enjoy a bite free (hopefully) summer!
